DESCRIPTION:Are you a newly out bisexual?\n(scroll to the bottom to purchase tickets) \nA mixer hosted by Colorado’s bisexual community to help welcome in newly out bisexual\, queer\, and LGBTQ+ folks. Everyone under the rainbow\, at every stage of being out\, is encouraged to attend. We’ll have food and drinks. \nComing out is hard. For a lot of us\, it felt isolating\, even scary. Then you finally work up the nerve to go to an LGBTQ+ event\, and it’s a packed bar or a big club\, and somehow that feels just as intimidating. And dating/hookup apps aren’t exactly community either.  \nThis night is for changing that. BConnected is all about community\, and we’re starting a new tradition of hosting “NewB Nights” twice a year to welcome in the newly out bisexual or queer people in an intentional way. \nJoin us at my house in Longmont for a relaxed evening of snacks\, drinks\, and good conversation. Help create a softer landing for people who are newly out\, and a chance for the rest of us to say: hello\, I see you\, it gets better. \nWe’ll have folks who just came out\, folks who’ve been out for decades\, and everyone in between. Come mix\, mingle\, and share a little wisdom (or get some). \nWhat to expect:\nMy house is a spacious place with plenty of room to mingle around inside and out. After you get checked in\, you’ll get a name tag. Write your name\, pronouns\, and if you’re a NewB (anyone under the rainbow who’s come out in the last year)\, or how long you’ve been out\, if you want to share. Nobody is counting. Maybe you’ve been out for two years but don’t know anyone in the community—you count as a NewB too. \nWe’ll also have paper and pens available to write some friendly notes to the NewBs. “What I wish I had known when I came out” or “the best part about being out is____.” We’ll read these out loud during the evening. \nDepending on the drought conditions\, we’ll have a campfire in the backyard.  \nFAQ \nDo I have to identify as Bi?\nNo\, but because the Bisexuals are hosting\, we never miss a chance to make a B-related pun. So tonight\, you’re a NewB (get it?! Har har). You just need to be coming out as LGBTQ+. \nCan I bring a straight friend or partner?\nAbsolutely. Straight allies are always welcome to BConnected events when they’re with their LGBTQ+ person. \nI’m a little shy. What if random people hug me and make a big deal?\nQueer people tend to be pretty good about consent; nobody’s going to tackle-hug you. This is a warm\, easy welcome\, not a receiving line. Come find me first when you arrive\, and I’ll help you ease in at your own pace. You need other Bi/Queer people in your life. DESCRIPTION:Looking for a bisexual brunch in Colorado with your people? Queers & Quiche is exactly that. This potluck brunch meetup is always a good ol’ time. Anyone under the rainbow is welcome. We hang out at my place in Longmont\, eat\, play games\, and get to know other Bi+/Queer people in the Denver/Boulder area. We typically have about 20ish people at this event. \nPlease bring: Something brunchy to share in your own dish or container. If you like games\, feel free to bring one to play (sometimes we have a game table going). \nIf you’re not a cook\, don’t panic — we can always use ice\, paper plates\, plasticware\, napkins\, bubbly water (we all seem to love white wine)\, or even a bundle of wood (we’ll have a campfire going in the backyard). \nLet’s make Queers and Quiche a little greener! If you can\, bring your own non-disposable plate\, cup\, and utensils so we can cut down on waste. Cuzzzzz we’ve kinda been filling several trash bags. \nImportant to know: Q’s & Q’s is getting big\, which is awesome. AND it’s very helpful and cuts down on the clean-up to bring your food ready to serve in your own dish or vessel of some type (we’re pretty casual here). \nKindly pack it in and pack it out. I often can’t handle a lot of leftovers and don’t want the food to go to waste. Please leave with everything you arrived with. \nAll genders are warmly welcomed. We meet on the main level of my house\, but there are four steps leading up to the front door. Can’t wait to see everyone again! \nAllies are welcome assuming they are accompanied by their queer or questioning person. \nParking is available on the block south of the house\, the alley behind the house\, or anywhere in the neighborhood that does not have a No Parking sign.
