The Loneliness Epidemic: We’re Not Meant to Do Life Alone
Let’s face it—loneliness is at an all-time high, and it’s affecting all of us. Studies have shown that more than 60% of Americans report feeling lonely on a regular basis. That’s a lot of people, and chances are, you or someone you know is feeling the weight of that loneliness. It’s not just a passing feeling either—loneliness has been linked to serious health issues like depression, anxiety, and even a shorter lifespan.
For bisexual folks, the challenges can be even more pronounced. According to recent statistics, bisexual people make up more than half of the LGBTQ community, but they often face unique struggles. Many report feeling invisible, misunderstood, or caught between two worlds—often feeling disconnected from both the straight and LGBTQ communities. In fact, bisexual people are more likely to experience mental health issues, including higher rates of anxiety, depression, and loneliness, compared to their gay, lesbian, and straight peers.

That’s exactly why I started Bconnected Colorado—to create a space where bi, queer, and gender-diverse folks can come together, build connections, and find a sense of belonging.
