The Power of Community: Why Bconnected Is More Important Than Ever

The Loneliness Epidemic: We’re Not Meant to Do Life Alone

Let’s face it—loneliness is at an all-time high, and it’s affecting all of us. Studies have shown that more than 60% of Americans report feeling lonely on a regular basis. That’s a lot of people, and chances are, you or someone you know is feeling the weight of that loneliness. It’s not just a passing feeling either—loneliness has been linked to serious health issues like depression, anxiety, and even a shorter lifespan.

For bisexual folks, the challenges can be even more pronounced. According to recent statistics, bisexual people make up more than half of the LGBTQ community, but they often face unique struggles. Many report feeling invisible, misunderstood, or caught between two worlds—often feeling disconnected from both the straight and LGBTQ communities. In fact, bisexual people are more likely to experience mental health issues, including higher rates of anxiety, depression, and loneliness, compared to their gay, lesbian, and straight peers.

Why Community Matters: We Need Each Other

This is where community comes in. We’re social creatures by nature, and we thrive when we’re connected to others who understand us, support us, and share our experiences. That’s exactly why I started Bconnected Colorado—to create a space where bi, queer, and gender-diverse folks can come together, build connections, and find a sense of belonging.

Being part of a community like Bconnected isn’t just about attending events or joining a Meetup group. It’s about being seen, heard, and valued for who you are. It’s about knowing you’re not alone in your journey, and that there are people out there who genuinely care about you and your well-being.

Why You Should Get Involved: Be Part of Something Special

So, why should you join Bconnected? And more importantly, why should you get involved? Because community isn’t just something that happens—it’s something we create together. We’re a new and growing organization, and while everything might take a minute to get going smoothly, we’re dedicated to building something truly special.

When you get involved, you’re not just joining a group—you’re helping to shape a community. Whether you’re looking to make new friends, find support, or get involved in bi/queer culture, there’s a place for you here. And the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it. This isn’t just about attending events; it’s about contributing your unique energy, talents, and perspectives to help us grow.

Patience and Passion: Building a Community Takes Time

We’re still in the early stages of becoming a nonprofit, and like any new venture, there will be some bumps along the way. But we’re committed to making Bconnected a thriving, dynamic community where everyone feels welcome. We know that great things take time, and we’re in it for the long haul.

So, if you’re feeling lonely, disconnected, or just looking for a place where you can truly belong, we invite you to join us. Be part of Bconnected, and help us build a community where everyone under the rainbow can find their place.

Let’s create something beautiful together.

With appreciation,
