HOST AN EVENT

If you want to host an event, get in touch with Three to discuss your idea. She or Timmy will make you an event host on Meetup so you can post your event. We ask that you read our Host Code of Conduct first.

HOST A SKILLSHARE

This is a new concept! We’ve done it a few times unofficially, but now that we’re a nonprofit, we’d like to make it a bit more structured.

How it works:
You decide on something you want to “show and tell.” It can be light and easy or rocket science—you choose. Next, you choose a date, gather supplies you’ll need, and come up with ticket prices that will cover your costs and/or knowledge you’d like to share. We can help you with this, too. You keep 75% of the revenue, and Bconnected takes 25%.

Examples: Teach people how to make pizza from scratch, a DIY terrarium, show people how to write a better resume, fix a flat tire, etc. Anything you feel confident in teaching/sharing. You can do a one-off or make it an ongoing thing. We’ll help you brainstorm the idea, get the word out, and dialogue with you before and after to make sure you feel supported.

SHARE YOUR STORY

Shared stories are vital for a healthy and thriving community!

Give a short testimonial.
Sometimes, people take months or even a year to show up to an event. The more positive testimonials we have, the more comfortable people will feel about showing up. Click here to shower us with praise.

Write an article for the blog.
Write a piece for the blog about your Bi/Queer experience. 600-1200 words, and a picture is nice too. Submission guidelines are here.

Fill out a Q&A-style interview for the blog.
If you’d like some assistance, fill out this form of question prompts, and Three will turn it into a blog article for you.

Fill out our community demographics survey
This info helps us understand the demographics of the community so we can better serve our members. It is confidential, and your email will not be shared. Fill out our survey.

SCOUT OUT NEW VENUES

Know a good spot?!
We’re always on the hunt for spots to host an event, and finding the right place can be tricky. We want to do yoga, crafternoons, book clubs, and have a place to host a monthly meditation. If you know of good places, let us know!

Guidelines: Parking needs to be possible, bathrooms can’t be an issue, and it needs to accommodate at least 12 people comfortably.

SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE

Bconnected is doing a lot of new things this year with our new nonprofit status. We could use advice or guidance in the following areas: social media, marketing, grant writing, proofreading, and fundraising. This can be a one-hour call, video chat, coffee, or lunch.

Perhaps you have an idea of how you want to pitch in, but you’re not sure how it would work. Let us know what you have in mind.Or maybe you know of a place we can volunteer for as a community—we’ve done this in the past, and it was fun.
