Ways to support the LGBTQ community
Queer Joy, Community, & Getting Sh*t Done
BConnected Needs You! Big & Small Ways to Get Involved
The world feels like a lot right now, but hereās the good news: youāre not alone. BConnected exists because community makes us healthier and happier. Every action, big or small, helps build a thriving, unstoppable, queer community. Whether youāve got five minutes or five hours, thereās a way to get involved.
Having a role in the community can be a powerful antidote to anxiety, dysregulation, or fear. Putting the phone down, rolling up your sleeves, and showing up for each other is very grounding.
If you’re an ally, who wants to help out, YAY. Thank you! Pitching in for BConnected is basically as good for you and the community as the Mediterranean diet. It creates long-term health and happiness for everyone.
Small Ways to Give Back
(5 minutes or less!)
Nothing you do is ever smallāthese quick, easy, and fun actions pack a big punch. If everyone did just one of these, we could pretty much take over the world.
āļø Give a short testimonial.
Sometimes, people take months or even a year to show up to an event. The more positive testimonials we have, the more comfortable people will feel about joining us. Email me or click here to shower us with praise.
š Show up to events.
Yes, this is important. Itās tempting to isolate instead of leaning into collaboration and connection. RSVP on Meetup, so we have an accurate headcount and come hang out.
AllyāMaybe you have a Bi/Queer friend who’s feeling isolated; you can be their wingman at an event! It’s tough to show up solo, and we always have the door open for allies when they’re accompanied by their Bi/Queer person (friend, family member, co-worker, partner, etc). So it’s a win-win.
š¤ Donate!
Weāre a nonprofit with big dreams. Right now, Iām covering all of BConnectedās basic costs out of pocket because I believe in this community so much. Your support helps shift this from a one-person labor of love to a collective movement that sustains itselfāand grows! Click here to chip in.
Medium Ways to Help
(A tiny bit more effort, but so worth it.)
šÆāāļø Help co-host an event.
I can always use a friend at events. Just being there as a greeter or support person makes a huge difference. Plus, itās a great way to meet people and get involved!
š„³ Host an event!
Itās fun, I promise! Iāll help you brainstorm ideas and get everything set up. It doesnāt have to be an epic ragerāit can be as simple as a walk or a coffee meetup. More events in different locations make us accessible to more people.
š§š» Be a Focus Buddy
Iād love some support in the form of a monthly Zoom callāsomeone to help me stay accountable and prioritize tasks.
Starting a nonprofit is a huge undertaking, and Iāll be honestāsometimes, I just stare into the void when Iām overwhelmed. You donāt have to do much! Just being a sounding board once a month and helping me outline an action plan would make a world of difference.
š Share your story for our blog.
Writing about your Bi/Queer experience is a gift to someone whoās not out yet or looking for validation and insight. If youāre unsure about writing, use this Q&A form. If writing is your thing, click here to share your story.
šš¼ Organize a skillshare.
Skillshares are a new addition to BConnected, and so far, theyāve been amazing! Our self-defense workshop was fun, practical, and empowering. If you have a skill youād love to share with the communityāwhether itās creative, practical, or just plain funāletās make it happen. Click here for more info.
š Overachievers, Assemble!
(Boss-level volunteering opportunities)
If you were the kid in the front row with your hand always upāthis is for you.
š„ Help with grant writing
We need help finding grants, writing applications, and keeping everything organized. This is a chance to sharpen your skills, boost your resume, and make a real impact as a changemaker in the Bi/Queer community. Email me if youāre interested!
š Join the BConnected Board of Directors
Weāre looking for a treasurer and a secretaryāso if you love numbers, organization, and making a difference, we need you!
Now is an exciting time to be part of building a nonprofit from the ground up. As a board member, youāll help shape policies, establish our framework, and make a HUGE impact. Youāll be a co-founder, a visionary, and a leader in your community.
These are tough timesābut having a meaningful project to focus on is just as good for you as it is for the community.

Cheers,
Three Brodsky
